Well, the beginning of EMD happened innocently enough. Nagrath used a little bit of his webspace from his band at the time, Enearthed, to make a small and compact resource site aimed towared extreme drummers. It had small sections of text and articles and a recommended listening page. It was called "The Extreme Drumming Resource Site."

One day, when browsing the forums of a site called Break Sitcks, Nagrath got a message from a user named DoomAxe. They soon became quick friends and DoomAxe came up with the idea of making a large scaled version of EMD fit with videos and forums. So DoomAxe went to work and the first version of Extreme Drumming was born. It didn't last long, becuase a second version of the site was made almost immediately.

The second version would be up for an entire year before this version would be created. In that time, howerver, EMD was established as a permanent addition to the metal drumming community and became extremely successful, finding the eyes of Mayhems' very own drummer, Hellhammer.
